What are the notes for Zelda's Lullaby?

The notes are B, high D, A, B, high D, A. In the game the Nintendo 64 buttons are C-left, C-up, C-right, C-left, C-up, C-right. Choose your ocarina above the pictures.

  1. BC-left
  2. high DC-up
  3. AC-right
  4. BC-left
  5. high DC-up
  6. AC-right

What is the tricky spot in Zelda's Lullaby?

The jump up from B to high D, twice. The fingers have to move together, and the high D needs more air than the B before it. On a 12-hole, from B to high D you lift the left index and left thumb.

How do you hold and breathe for Zelda's Lullaby?

Let each note ring: the phrase is three notes, said twice. Start soft on the B, give the high D a little more air, and ease off again for the A so it does not go sharp.

Which ocarina plays Zelda's Lullaby?

Any 12-hole alto C or 6-hole pendant in C plays it; a 4-hole ocarina does not reach every note. On an ocarina in G or F, use the same fingerings and it sounds lower. See the 12-hole fingering chart for every note, and check yours with a chromatic tuner (our own ocarina tuner is on its way). Not sure which ocarina to get? Read our buying guide.

Where do you learn Zelda's Lullaby in Ocarina of Time?

Link learns Zelda's Lullaby from Impa, shortly after meeting Princess Zelda at the castle. He plays it at many points in the game, for example at the entrance to Zora's Domain.
