Ocarina songs and tabs
Updated 2026-10-27
Every song here has tabs: a fingering picture for each note, so you can play without reading music. Each page shows which ocarinas the tune fits, 12-hole, 6-hole or 4-hole, and lets you hear it first. New to the ocarina? Start with the easy songs.
Which ocarina songs can I play?
The songs here are folk songs, hymns, carols and classics that are out of copyright. The table shows which ocarinas each one fits in the key we wrote it in.

Where are the Zelda songs?
The Ocarina of Time songs have their own page: Ocarina of Time songs, from Zelda's Lullaby to the warp songs. They show the short in-game phrase as fingerings.
How do you read ocarina tabs?
Each picture is the ocarina seen from above: a filled hole is covered and a hollow one is open. Read the pictures from left to right; the letter under each one is the note. The fingering chart for your ocarina has every note on its own.
Are these songs free to use?
Yes. Every melody here is in the public domain: published before 1931, and everyone known to have written it died before 1956. Each song page names an early printing of the tune, and the tabs are our own arrangement, not copied from a modern edition. The pages teach the melody; they do not print the lyrics.
