Lesson 2 teaches D and E on an ocarina, each a small change from the note before. The lesson shows each fingering, listens through your microphone, then has you play C, D and E in order and the first line of Mary Had a Little Lamb.

How do you play D and E on an ocarina?

On a 12-hole alto C, D is C with your right little finger lifted, and E lifts your right ring finger as well, as STL Ocarina's chart shows. A 6-hole or 4-hole pendant lifts a different finger for D, so the lesson names the holes for the ocarina you picked. Press with the pads of your fingers and blow gently, as in lesson 1.

Which tune does lesson 2 end with?

The first line of Mary Had a Little Lamb, which uses only C, D and E. The tune is public domain: our tabs follow Heart Songs, Chapple Publishing, Boston, 1909, page 345 (Internet Archive), and the full song is on its own page with the fingering for every ocarina.

What if a note will not come out right?

When it hears a different note, the lesson says so and points you back to the picture of the holes, and it lets you skip a note for now. If it sounds wrong on every note, test your whole ocarina before blaming your fingers.
