- 3New note: high C
- 4Short tuneTwinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
- 5Next lessonSteady breath
Lesson 4 takes you up the scale to A, B and high C, which completes the C major scale, and ends with the first line of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. The lesson listens through your microphone and moves on as you hold each note.
How do you play the top of the scale on an ocarina?
Each note up the scale lifts or adds a finger, and the lesson names the holes for your ocarina. For a 12-hole alto C see STL Ocarina's chart. Pitch rises with breath pressure: Pure Ocarinas explains that "pressure must increase as you play higher notes", so blow a little more as you climb.
Which tune does lesson 4 end with?
The first line of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, which leaps from C to G and on to A. The tune is public domain: our tabs follow W. E. Hickson, The Singing Master, London, 1838, "Ah vous dirai-je" (Internet Archive).
