Lesson 5 teaches a steady breath: long notes that stay at one pitch from start to finish, ending with the first phrase of Brahms' Lullaby. The lesson listens through your microphone and tells you when you have the note in tune.

Why does a long ocarina note go flat at its end?

The air runs out too soon. STL Ocarina's booklet says "If the air stream tapers the pitch will sag", so end a note by stopping the air with your tongue instead of letting it fade. The same breath, kept even, is what the exercises in this lesson practise.

Which tune does lesson 5 end with?

The first phrase of Brahms' Lullaby, slow and smooth, with a short repeated note at its start. The tune is public domain: our tabs follow IMSLP, Brahms, 5 Lieder Op. 49, first edition, Simrock, Berlin, 1868, page 11, Wiegenlied.
