What is the tricky spot in Sonata of Awakening?
The drop from B down to the low D, a sixth, right after two high notes. The low D needs the gentlest air in the song, and the A that follows it needs more. On a 12-hole, Sonata of Awakening goes from B to D: you cover the left ring, left middle, right index, right middle and right ring. On a 6-hole, you lift the right middle and cover the left middle, left index and right index.
How do you hold and breathe for Sonata of Awakening?
Let the high D and B ring as a pair, then ease the air right off for the low D. Breathe after the first D, B, D, B and before the drop, so the low D starts with a settled breath. To check your breath, hold each note of Sonata of Awakening in turn and watch it on a tuner such as our free ocarina tuner.
Which ocarina can play Sonata of Awakening?
